The 154 Collective - exciting new work!

I have recently embarked on a new and very exciting project as part of the 154 Collective which will see me producing photographic and film based work to form part of the 154 Collective Exhibition starting in June 2012, at the Cooper Gallery in Barnsley, which will run for 3 months - very exciting!!  I have already begun capturing images throughout Barnsley Town Centre as a starting point for my ideas. I am currently working on a photographic collage which knits together a scattered composite image with illustrated pattern detail inspired by the shapes within the photograph, using inks, charcoal, graphite, felt tip pens, fine liner and posca.

Exhibiting at The Water Street Gallery

The Smalls Works and "...just in case" exhibitions have now begun at The Water Street Gallery, Todmorden. I thoroughly enjoyed the Private View last week which saw the Gallery full to the brim with visitors. There is an eclectic mix of inspiring work throughout the Gallery - a fantastic exhibition. The exhibition is on until the beginning of January so there is plenty of time to take a visit! Here are a few images I took on the Opening Night to capture my work in exhibition.

HOST Open Studios at the LBT

Today I set up my mobile studio in the Foyer of The Lawrence Batley Theatre for the weekend as part of the HOST Open Studio Trail. I worked with visitors to produce a number of animated sequences which will form part of the short film I am creating throughout the HOST weekend. Here are a few shots of my studio space, where I also displayed some photographic artwork in the form of mounted prints and cards.

I will be at the LBT again all day tomorrow (Sunday 11 - 5.00pm), so feel free to come along...

Sketch and Shoot Animation Workshop
The animation workshop this afternoon was a great success and resulted in some lovely animation sequences produced by children. These will form part of the short film I am creating this weekend. Here are a few images from the workshop.

Creative Composite Photograph
This is a close up preview of one of my four pieces currently exhibited at the Lawrence Batley Theatre, Huddersfield as part of the A Taste of Host Exhibition showcasing the work of local artists.
